Mole Mapping
Did you know that melanoma is the most common cancer and yet one of the most preventable? Statistically, 1 in every 6 people will develop skin cancer within their lifetime.
What To Expect During Your Visit:
Mole mapping is a vital tool in the early detection and prevention of skin cancer. During your appointment, our physician will carefully examine your skin and take pictures of your moles in order to track any changes. This is usually done once a year however, Dr. Bredenkamp may ask to see you sooner based on your individual exam.
Come to your appointment without makeup on and please avoid using tanning products for 1 week before your appointment. It is important to wear loose fitting clothing to your appointment as you will need to undress to your degree of comfort. If you have moles that are covered by your underclothes, please let the assistant know.
This exam usually takes approximately 1 hour.
